How do you define a Lake Oswego Luxury home?
Are there rules? Many Lake Oswego luxury home specialists start with a particular standard and price is only a piece of the equation. Value has as much to do with the “luxury” definition as does the location. It may be easier and more appropriate to determine what a Luxury home is not. Challenging yes, but not elusive.
Does a new subdivision in Lake Oswego where pricing may hit the seven figure mark, automatically make them luxury homes? I would say, probably not. They are not cookie cutter homes. They offer spacious floor plans, are well appointed with top end finishes and mill work, and some may have lake rights. Is it opulence or location that determines Luxury? What about architectural significance?
Price alone cannot distinguish Luxury. Location, architecture, decadent amenities, property entrance, lovely grounds, and so many other details, make a home a stand out from the ordinary. A new McMansion does not qualify as a luxury home unless it has the extras like a superior location or possibly a view. A 2 million dollar Lake Oswego cottage on the main lake that has a fantastic location but lacks both architectural interest and luxe surfaces or even a tacky interior…does the coveted location alone qualify as Luxury?
As a discerning real estate professional, I believe you know one when you see it. The home will have all the signs, from its location, luxury livability, and even panache, offering luxury around every corner.
